The Lindow Family Are Living in Comfort and Saving Money with their Geothermal Heating and Air Conditioning

Ed Lindow recently invested in a new geothermal heatpump to supply his Arizona home with geothermal heating and air conditioning.  He has been so happy with the system’s performance and his energy savings that he wrote us to give an update on how the system is performing and how it has impacted his family’s living.

Dear Sir,

Now that we have had several above 100 degree days, I wanted to let you know how pleased Denise and I are with the two geothermal heatpumps that you installed in our house last fall.  As you know my wife is a novelist who works from home so noise has always been an issue for her.

Denise always complained about the noise produced by our old conventional heatpumps.  We were told by the AC by Jay representative that the geothermal heatpumps would be quiet and they are.  In fact Denise told me a couple of days ago how quiet the systems were and how nice the house feels with the new system.

I was more interested in the energy savings and have been pleased with their performance so far.  I have an electrical energy monitoring system installed in my home and have documented the energy reduction to date.  Last year we set the thermostat on the house between 78 and 80 degrees during the day and 72 degrees at night.  The amount of electricity used to keep the house at these temperatures with the conventional heatpumps was between 90 and 100kwh/day when the outside, daytime temperature peak was 105 to 110 degrees.  The house is currently set at 75 degrees during the day and 72 degrees at night, and the amount of electricity used for cooling is now between 50 and 60kwh/day.

This meets the 40% energy savings that was promised by AC by Jay for the geothermal heatpumps.

Now that I have updated you on the system performance, I want to tell you the real reason I am writing this letter.  As you are aware the geothermal heatpump system that was installed on my house is fairly new technology, some might even say experimental.  With any new technology problems occur and I was told to expect a few bugs in the system, which there were.  What I didn’t expect was the level of support provided by AC by Jay.  When I had a problem you were there within hours and worked well into the night to make sure we had heat or cooling before you would go home.  I sometimes felt I had my own private crew led by Brett Monik.  To say that I was delighted with the support and professionalism provided would still be an understatement.  Everyone was terrific!
